The Godfather of Macau gaming tycoon 87-year old Dr Stanley Ho is in a satisfactory condition after undergoing emergency brain surgery in Hong Kong last Tuesday.
Apparently he fell and hurt his head during a family party last week and was immediately rushed to a Hong Kong hospital . He then underwent brain surgery to ease internal bleeding.
The king of Macau gambling, Ho, is a patriarch of mixed European and Chinese parentage, and he manage to father 17 children with his four wives. He was visited in hospital by two of his four wives and his daughter Pansy and son Lawrence. One of his daughter’s said that Dr Stanley Ho was in good spirits and doing quite well.
Analysts are worried about the future of his vast empire given his large family circle and the ongoing feuds with his “never give in, let die” sister Winnie Ho.
Dr Stanley Ho who is worth an estimated US$2 billion has two of his children involved in the Macau gaming industry. They are Miss Pansy Ho with MGM Grand Paradise, running MGM Grand Macau and Lawrence Ho who co-owns Melco Crown with Australian billionaire James Packer and are operating the recently opened City of Dreams, Altira Macau and the seven Mocha Clubs.
He also has a wild child, in the guise of daughter Josie Ho, who lives in Canada and has performed in a number of movies as an actress known for performing the more risque roles.
